St. Fulbert

Henry Gauntlett originally composed this tune to accompany an Easter text by Fulbert of Chartres, Ye choirs of new Jerusalem, a coupling that is still sung at Eastertide in Great Britain. It is also commonly sung to the text I love thee Lord, and not because, one of two texts assigned to this tune in Hymnal 1982.

This descant was written for the Choir of St. Peter's Peterston for services featuring the new (Easter 2010) Nicholson organ at Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff, Wales (below).
